PEL-AMID RDP-1.0 is a nonionic surfactant and emulsifier with a low HLB. It is produced by from canola oil and diisopropanolamine. In metal working applications, it serves as a lubricant, corrosion inhibitor and an emulsifier for soluble oils. Metalworking fluids may be formulated for tapping, broaching, drilling, drawing, and other general machining operations with this product. PELAMID RDP-1.0 is completely DEA-free and has higher reserve alkalinity than does conventional DEA derived amides. It also offers better solubility, stability in hard water and lower foam.
