PEL-WET AG-102 is used to enhance the performance of agricultural chemicals, especially water-soluble broadleaf herbicides, insecticides, fungicides and plant growth regulators. It is a low molecular weight nonionic trisiloxane polyether surfactant, developed to improve the wetting, spreading and penetration of agricultural chemicals. It may be used as a formulation ingredient in pesticide products, or as a tank-mix adjuvant for foliage applied chemicals. It reduces the surface tension of aqueous agricultural mixtures significantly lower than is achievable with conventional nonionic surfactants. At concentrations as low as 0.01 percent, PEL-WET AG-102 reduces the surface tension of water below 23 dynes/cm, producing very rapid wetting and spreading on hard-to-wet surfaces such as waxy leaves. PEL-WET AG-102 may be used as an ingredient in formulations, provided all the ingredients are compatible. It is stable in neutral aqueous formulations, but will degrade in acidic or alkaline aqueous formulations. PEL-WET AG-102 may be added to tank-mixes to improve the biological performance of spray solutions. With herbicides, it should be used at a rate of about 0.25% by volume or weight in spray solutions. With insecticides and fungicides, use from 0.05 to 0.1% by volume or weight of spray solution. PEL-WET AG-102 meets the requirements of US EPA regulation 40 CFR 180.910 regarding “tolerances and exemption from tolerances for pesticide chemicals in or on raw agricultural commodities.” It is approved for both food and nonfood use.
